Langdale to Broad Crag and Bowfell
This route takes in some of the highest peaks in England - Broad Crag, III Crag and Bowfell. It starts from the National Trust car park and heads up around Angle Tarn to III Crag and Broad Crag, then heads back via Bowfell before descending back down into the Great Langdale valley.
Great Gable from Wasdale Head
Great Gable can also be accessed from the Langdale side, this route however begins from the west at Wasdale Head and heads very steeply up Kirk Fell then to Green Gable. It cuts back on itself to Great cable then heads back down towards the long gentle descent towards Wastwater.
The route around then up to the top of the Wrekin is mostly wooded, giving plenty of shelter along the way. The views from the top towards Wales and south cheshire are well worth the final steep climb to the summit. The area also includes some additional walks and slightly smaller peaks in the area to extend out the route.
Carding Valley and the Long Mynd
A nice circular walk with great views to Wales and across Shropshire. Church Stretton is on hand at the start and finish, for food and drink, and car parking at the National Trust site is convenient. The route is relatively easy, with only a couple of minor steep points but generally gentle gradient throughout the walk.
